We had a wonderful time staying at Taylor’s Lakeside Retreat! The home is so comfortable and well-equipped. It really sets itself apart from other lake rentals. From the start, I could tell that I would like this lake home. Jeff does such a great job in his description and photos that we knew just what to expect. We have older kids who LOVED having their own area. There are games, foosball, bumper pool, etc. along with a full kitchen and access to the backyard from the lower level. Having separate areas really made our vacation go a lot more smoothly. The kitchens are very well stocked, the beds are very comfortable and the decor is so pretty! We loved hanging out in the large yard by the lake. We threw frisbee, fished, and sat around the firepit and enjoyed the view. On the lake, we kayaked, tested our balance on the stand-up paddleboard, and did a lot of fishing. (Caught lots of bluegill and a few large-mouth bass.) Gladwin is a nice little town. We LOVED the pizza at Back Door Deli…so much so that we ordered it twice! Another evening we had a nice dinner at the Riverwalk Grill then walked along the river to walk off some of the delicious calories. Then we headed to the Corner House for their award-winning ice cream. We highly suggest getting it at least once while you are there! One day, we rented side-by-side ORVs and rode miles and miles of trails from Harrison, MI to Houghton Lake and St. Helens, MI. What a blast! Jeff was very easy to reach throughout the reservation process and during our stay. I really appreciate that. Makes a difference. Thank you, Taylors, for sharing your wonderful lake home!
